• Do you come home from work and all you want to do is climb into bed and pull the covers up or binge watch the latest series on Netflix?
  • Do you need to relax in the evening with a glass of wine or overeat sweets, only to feel guilty or terrible the next day?
  • Do you keep yourself so busy that you don’t have any quiet time to yourself?

These are just a few examples of how numbing out – or being in a persistent loop of shutting the world out as a way to control something that you may not be aware of.  Numbing out may happen to distance ourselves from a past experience that was overwhelming. Seeing this pattern and even naming it as unprocessed trauma can begin the healing process.

The good news is that as an adult we have the ability to rewire ourselves out of the pattern of numbing out and become free from the underlying overwhelm that makes us not want to be present in our lives.

In this video, Clare will help you explore the origins of your numbing out behavior and see how it was intelligently developed as a way to cope when you were younger. You’ll receive a step-by-step compassionate approach to unlocking this unconscious drive and gently begin to rewire your brain by listening to and building a trusting relationship with your parts – all the voices in your head – so that you can understand why you needed to numb out in the first place and what you really need now.
